The National Cybersecurity Agency (NCSA) is enhancing the cybersecurity of critical information infrastructure (CII) by supporting the establishment of Sectoral CERTs (Computer Emergency Response Teams) for the transportation and energy sectors.

The National Cybersecurity Agency (NCSA), led by Ms. Saichon Saelee, Director of Cyber Coordination Office, and her team, visited executives and officials from four information technology department from transportation, and energy sectors:

– Energy Policy and Planning Office
– Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy
– Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency
– Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport

The purpose of the visit was to promote and support the establishment of Sectoral Computer Emergency Response Teams (Sectoral CERTs) in the transport, logistics, and energy sectors. This initiative is a major step toward coordinating efforts between ThaiCERT and Sectoral CERTs for energy and transportation. These Sectoral CERTs will serve as central hubs for reporting and managing cyber threats, assisting critical information infrastructure (CII) agencies in responding to and handling cyber threats. Their role will also involve monitoring cyber risk trends, issuing threat alerts, and providing warnings regarding vulnerabilities that could be exploited in cyberattacks. The aim is to enable CII agencies to prevent and address cyber threats promptly and to implement security systems that safeguard against various cyber threats. The Transport CERT, under the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport, and the Energy CERT, under the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy, will be key in collaborating with relevant government agencies, regulatory bodies, and private sector organizations involved in cybersecurity for transportation, logistics, and energy to maximize benefits for the public and the nation.
